Hillsboro NH funeral home

HILLSBORO, NH:  Luc R. Mailloux, 63, of Hillsboro, NH passed away Friday September 29, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Magog, Canada on October 7, 1959, to Gerald and Dorothee Mailloux.  Luc and his family moved to the United States when he was 18 months old.  Luc later became a U.S. Citizen.  Luc attended school in Manchester, obtained his bachelor’s degree from New Hampshire College in 1997 and served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1982.

Luc moved to Deering in 1989 as soon as he met Christine. He had various roles while living in his new community, from Captain of Deering Fire and Rescue with his brother-in-law, Toby Voorhees, to working for the Town of Washington in the Highway Department.

He worked for New Hampshire Employment Security in the Claremont and Manchester offices for 24 years, retiring in October 2020.

Luc really enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and pushing himself to the limits. He stopped at nothing, from repelling off buildings to jumping out planes in the army and hiking New Hampshire’s 4000 footers which he nearly completed with his wife.  He loved to hunt, fish and going out on his boat, many trips were out at sea! He enjoyed golfing at Angus Lea Golf course with family and friends. The Men’s League was one of the heights of his retirement. He completed five Tough Mudder events before he was 60. “You are never to old to follow your dreams.”  In the off season, Luc enjoyed woodworking, making beautiful heirlooms for his family.  He enjoyed horseback riding with Kaylee year round.   Luc truly loved being a Pappi to his grandchildren being involved in their many activities.

Throughout Luc and Chris’s 29 years of marriage, they explored the continent by motorcycle. They visited Key West, Sturgis, South Dakota, Colorado, Niagara Falls (both sides) and many Canadian locations.

Luc’s family includes wife Christine, daughter, Meghan and Ian Royal, son, Joseph Boilard and Chelsea Gardner, his beloved grandchildren, Kaylee and Camron Royal, mother, Dorothee Mailloux, sisters, Doris Harmon, Line Gardner,  Ruth and Arthur Davis, many nieces and nephews, best friends, Toby Voorhees and Bill O’Malley.  He loved every single one of us and enjoyed keeping up on our live’s adventures.

Luc was preceded in death by Gerald Mailloux (father), Lucie Garrett (sister), Guy Mailloux (brother), Steven Tyler (nephew), Marcus Harmon (nephew)  and Wendell Harmon (brother-in-law).

In Luc’s memory the family asks that you take that adventure or cross something off your “someday list” and share it on Facebook with #CowboyLuc.

A Celebration of Luc’s Life will be held on October 29, 2023, at Main Street Bar and Grill (Angus Lea Golf Course), Hillsboro, NH from 1:00 to 3:00.

The funeral will be at a later date with family in the Veteran’s Cemetery Boscawen NH.
