ANTRIM, NH:  Richard “Dick” W. Atkinson, Jr. 74, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH.

He was born September 1, 1948 in Concord, NH, to the late Richard W. Atkinson, Sr. and Arlene E. (Long) Atkinson.

He was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Brady High School and spent three years at Saint Anselm. After retiring from being a driver licensing officer, he worked for First Student Bus Company, retiring this past June.

He was a member of the Antrim Fire Department for many years, where he was instrumental in starting the Antrim Rescue Squad. He was well liked by all who met him, his sense of humor being one of his best assets.

 Survived by his wife ,Jeanne (Whitford) Atkinson, his son Peter and his sister, Ann (Atkinson) Bachelder.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023  from 5 to 7 pm at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service 32 School St Hillsboro, NH.

Graveside services will be Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11 am at Maplewood Cemetery in Antrim, NH.
