STODDARD, NH: Antonia Sullivan, 90, of Sullivan, NH passed away on January 3, 2023, at home after two months of declining health, with her loving husband at her side.
Toni was born June 13, 1932 in Actopan, Mexico to the late Lucio and Margaret Gomez.
She left behind her loving husband of 61 years, Harold J. Sullivan, many nieces and nephews in Mexico, nephew Liam Adson of Stoddard, NH, and niece Debbie Clark of Ludlow MA.
She loved to tell stories of selling tortillas on the street as a young woman in Mexico City while also working as a seamstress, waitress and store clerk.
Toni and Harold married in 1961 and moved to Springfield, MA, where she lived until 1989, when they moved to Stoddard. In Stoddard, she continued working and making friends, tending gardens and cleaning homes. She loved her flowers, neighbors and any animals that came to visit her.
Toni and Harold traveled back to Mexico every year until the trip became too arduous for her to do so. They would spend two to three weeks there visiting the extended family they loved so dearly. The celebrations there were legendary with lots of food and “the cucaracha.” Many friends will miss Toni.
In lieu of flowers it would be appropriate to give someone you love a plant for their garden in her memory.
Graveside Burial in early May will be held in New Dow Cemetery on School Street in Stoddard, NH. The date and time to be determined.
The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service Hillsboro, NH is assisting the family.
