HILLSBORO, NH:  Ruth S. DiBuono, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023.  She was born August 27, 1942 to George and Doris (Olmstead) Swanson and grew up in Manchester, NH.  Ruth attended Central High School, graduating in 1961. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Donald S. DiBuono, Jr., and lived in Hillsboro since 1969.

Ruth dedicated her early years to being a loving and devoted stay-at-home mother to her four children. As they grew older, she embarked on a fulfilling career with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission, where she worked until her retirement. Ruth's commitment and work ethic were admired by her colleagues and made a lasting impact on the organization.

Beyond her professional life, Ruth had a passion for all things crafty. Knitting, quilting, and baking were her primary creative outlets, and she poured her heart into every design.  Often working on many intricate projects at once, her skillful hands brought joy to many friends and family members.

Ruth was an active member of Smith Memorial Church of Hillsboro, where she found solace and purpose. She was deeply involved in the annual Cookie Walk fundraiser, delighting in the joy it brought to the community. Ruth's dedication extended to making knitted prayer shawls for those in need of comfort during difficult times, assisting in Harvest Dinners, and creating beautifully crafted quilts, which were often featured in the annual church raffle.

Ruth's memory will forever be cherished by her beloved husband of 62 years, Donald Jr., and their four children, Beth Aborn (husband, Michael, son, Tyler), Andrea Dustin (daughter, Lauren), Donald, III (wife, Sonia, children, Anita and Nicholas), and Carol Lewis (husband, Glen, children, Sophia and Galen).  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.  Ruth was predeceased by her two brothers, Robert and Ralph Swanson.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 10 to 11, with services at 11 at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School St,  Hillsboro NH.  A graveside service will follow at Harvey Memorial Cemetery,18 Shedd Rd, Hillsboro, NH.

Ruth DiBuono will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and talented craftswoman. Her legacy of love, creativity, and service will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.  May she rest in eternal peace.
