HILLSBORO, NH:  Edward J. Horniak, 90, of Hillsboro, NH passed away on April 12, 2023 with his family at his side.

Ed was born on February 8, 1933 in Webster MA, to the late Julius J. Horniak and Emma Horniak (Janoto).  He was also predeceased by two brothers, John and Bernard Horniak, three sisters, Anne Horniak, Eugenia Scott and Frances Corcoran, and a stepdaughter, Nancy McCauley.

Ed was a graduate of Bartlett High School.  Shortly after graduation he joined the Marine Corps and served in Korea.  After the military, Ed was employed at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, CT for 35 years, retiring in 1990.

Ed and his wife Nancy moved to Hillsboro, NH in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. 

He was a member of the American Legion,  Post 59, Hillsboro, NH and several Rod and Gun Clubs throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He had a passion for his animals, especially his cat “Tuxedo” and his African Gray Parrot “GB” and any stray that showed up on their doorstep.

Ed is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy J (Carter) Horniak of Hillsboro, NH, two sons, Edziu Horniak and his wife Nancy of Holden, MA, Eric Horniak of Holden, MA, a grandson, Brian Dunn of Mason, NH, stepson, Robert McCauley of Webster, MA, stepdaughters, Tamara Battista of Dudley, MA, Brenda Lemire, of Webster MA and Robyn McCauley of Goldsboro, NC and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. 

The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service Hillsboro, N H is assisting the family.
