ANTRIM, NH: Vivian Gale, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Antrim on February 3, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Gale, son, James Dodge, and grandson, Allen Elliott. She leaves behind her son, David and daughters, Diane, Lisa, and Lori. She will be greatly missed by her children, sons-in law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Whitefield, Maine. She moved to New Hampshire after graduating from Erskine Academy in South China, Maine. She had five children and raised them as a single mother. She also opened her home to adolescents who needed a safe place to land. She married Dennis in 1983 and lived in Antrim for the remainder of her life.
She loved playing card games, listening to Kenny Rogers, and sitting by her pond watching the variety of creatures that called it home. Her family was always and will remain in awe of the amount of love and care she bestowed on her family and friends. She did so with an energy that seemed endless.
There will be a Celebration of Life this summer. Time and place will be announced when the time is closer.
The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, her family is asking for donations to be made to the Antrim Ambulance Association. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 517, Antrim NH 03440.
