HILLSBORO, NH: Margaret Clara Gerbert, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, October 28, 2020 at her home in Hillsboro, NH. Margaret was born in Amherst, NH on January 2, 1926 to Edwin Samuel and Arlene Mearl (Palmer) Hanson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald A. Gerbert, Sr., son, Raymond E. Gerbert., three sisters, Viola Mearl Call of Texas, Florence May Evans of Jaffrey, NH and Frances Louise Locke of Manchester, NH, two brothers, Roger Elwin Hanson of Keene, NH and Harold Lewis Hanson of Missouri.
She is survived by her son Reginald A. Gerbert, Jr. of Hillsboro NH, granddaughter, Tara L. Todd of Perkinsville VT, brother, Charles Edwin Hanson and his wife, Henrietta of Franklin, NH and she leaves several nieces, nephews and a large network of friends.
Margaret worked for GTE Sylvania in Hillsboro NH for 32 years until she retired in 1988. She would often work with her husband Reggie (Rags) cutting and delivering cord wood to local residents.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, Nanny to Thomas Poland of Hillsboro, a mentor to Shellie A. Foley of Perkinsville, VT and all who were blessed to know her.
Margaret loved her family and home. She enjoyed baking her famous pies, celebrating birthdays with “the girls”, family reunions, bowling, watching the Red Sox, attending church and mostly giving her love and kindness. She was a very strong willed and hard working woman.
She leaves us with memories to share. “Not a day goes by that we don’t think of you, and smile or cry, or both. You will be deeply missed. We love you Gram!”
A Private Burial will be held at Maple Ave Cemetery, Hillsboro, NH.
