DEERING, NH: Anthony Michael DeFusco, 82, of Deering, NH died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH.
Anthony was born on May 24, 1938 in Lawrence, MA, to the late Michael A. and Rose A. (Laffredo) DeFusco.
Anthony attended Tenny High School, Methuen, MA, and Lowell Tech, Lowell, MA for two years. He was also a member of the Air National Guard.
He lived in Methuen, MA until 1963, before moving to Groton, MA, from 1963 to 1978. He lived in Deering, NH from 1978 until 2017 when he suffered a debilitating stroke and moved into several care facilities in and around Concord, NH until the time of his death.
Anthony was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Hillsboro, NH, and the Knights of Columbus at the church. He was also a member of the church choir.
He worked for Continental Pet Technologies Co., Merrimack, NH as an Engineer-Draftsman and Tool Designer, before his retirement in 2000.
Anthony was avid reader of books, beekeeper, winemaker, gardener, lover of history and an avid outdoorsman who loved, camping, hunting, fishing and hiking. Honest, kind and giving in spirit, his gentle hands built and played dulcimers, furniture, toys and tied many a fly. His curious nature led to many interesting and passionate conversations about nature, religion, and politics.
Survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Manetta) DeFusco, of Deering, NH, three daughters, Robin M. D’Eri of Nashua, NH, Lisa A. Pilsbury of Concord, NH, and Rebecca L. DeFusco Grosner of Harrisville, NH, and three grandchildren, Kayla Pilsbury of Concord, NH, Jordan D’Eri of Nashua, NH and Demetri Grosner of Harrisville, NH.
Due to COVID, there will be no services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of donations or flowers, the family requests that you spend the day with a loved one walking in the woods.
