Perry O. Killam, Jr.

CONTOOCOOK, NH:  Perry O. Killam Jr., 87, of Contoocook, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 16, 2018 at CRVNA Hospice House after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born June 30, 1931 in Boston, son of Perry O. Killam, Sr. and Alice Grinnell Killam. He graduated from Melrose Massachusetts High School in 1949. 

He joined the U.S. Army after attending Tufts University. While stationed in Berlin, Germany, he met and married the love of his life, the late Sigrid Binner, on June 4th 1954.

Perry worked for the state of NH as a computer analyst. He entered the computer industry when he answered an ad for a computer operator in 1960. At that time, it was only known how to address 54K bits of information. 

Perry was a founding member of the Hopkinton Lions Club, served on the board of directors of the Hopkinton Community Center and coached youth basketball. He was an avid basketball and football fan. 

Perry is survived by his sons, Glen and wife Annie Killam of Contoocook, Jeffery and wife Cheryl Killam of Concord, and Scott Killam of South Berwick, ME.  He is also survived by a sister, Jenifer Killam, of NYC, a brother, David Killam and wife Dam Nguyen of Moraga, CA, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Perry was predeceased by his wife Sigrid and his granddaughters Ashleigh Killam List and Hilary Killam. 

A Celebration of Perry’s Life will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 am in the Fellowship Hall of the Contoocook United Methodist Church in Contoocook, NH. 

Burial will follow in Contoocook Village Cemetery in Contoocook, NH.
