PENACOOK, NH: Preston Russell Trombley, 78, of Penacook, NH died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Concord Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1940 in Littleton, NH to the late Paul E. and Ruth (Philbrick) Trombley. He was also predeceased by a sister, Patricia Tessier who died in 2014.
Preston attended Charles Street School and Summer Street School then graduated from Penacook High School in 1959.
He was a member of the United Church of Penacook; those who most influenced him in life were his mother, stepmother and many friends.
Preston worked at Thirty Pines as a store clerk, for the State of NH Engineering /Surveying, for the Penacook School District as Custodian for 4 years, for the City of Concord Highway Maintenance Department, for Page Belting, and then retired from Rivco after 15 years of service in 2005.
Preston was most happy when bowling with seniors, helping neighbors and their families, shoveling out fire hydrants, and golfing as a teenager. He loved to walk to many places. His longest walks were Tilton to Boscawen, and from his home to the Governor’s Mansion on Mountain Road.
He was named an Honorary Fireman of the Concord Fire Department at a ceremony he attended with his stepmother. He was surprised with this unexpected honor.
He was survived by his brother, Paul Trombley of Henniker, NH, stepbrother Angelo Mancini of Ogden, Utah, and many neighbors and friends.
Services will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 1:30 pm in the Perkins Chapel at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, NH, followed by a burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Pennacook, NH.
