HILLSBORO, NH: Constance R. Black 85, lifelong resident of Hillsboro, died at her home Thursday January 12, 2017 surrounded by her three children and her beloved cat Sammy.
She was born June 20, 1931 daughter of Elmer and Dorothy (Johnson) Cody. She attended Hillsboro schools, graduating from Hillsboro High School class of 1949. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Black, her brother Norman Cody and her infant daughter Dawn Knapton.
Connie worked as an Administrative Secretary at various local businesses retiring from Monadnock Paper Mills in Bennington. In her life she enjoyed golfing, bowling and Bingo. Connie continued to enjoy playing cards and was a member of the Hillsboro Women’s Whist club where she frequently was a top scorer.
Family members include two daughters, Lori Guyette, of Swanzey, Karen Johnson and her husband Doug of Hillsboro and a son Donald (D.J.) Knapton and his wife Gretchen of Concord, as well as her sisters Priscilla Macukewicz of Hillsboro and Linda Morse of Concord. In addition, Connie leaves 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Respecting Connie’s wishes, there are no calling hours planned.
Services will be held Friday, January 20th at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s church in Hillsboro with a private burial to follow in the spring.
