MANCHESTER, NH: Richard Armand Jalbert, Sr. of Manchester NH passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester NH, with his family by his bedside.
Born October 27, 1931 in Nashua, NH, son of the late Eugene A. and Rose (Boucher) Jalbert, he was also predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Joan, who died in 2009.
Survived by a brother Gerry Jalbert of Merrimack, NH, two sisters, Terry Hebert of New York and Rachel Knight of Florida, his nine children, Richard, Jr. of Manchester, Keith and wife Clara of Hudson, Cheryl High and her husband Greg of Merrimack, Brenda Flinkstrom and husband Kevin of Antrim, Sharon Hardy and her husband John of Merrimack, Brian and his wife Joanne of Hudson, Kenneth and his wife Laurie of Nashua, David and his wife Leah of MA, Sandra Levesque and husband Peter of Antrim. Also survived by his 17 grandchildren, Jason Jabert Deane, Gwendolyn Vogelsang, Keith Jalbert, Jr., Patricia Pereira, Jennifer Tremblay , Josh Jalbert, Jessica Tate, Corey High, Dennis Flinkstrom, Richard Bilodeau, Jason Bilodeau, John Jalbert, Kendra Jalbert, Kara Jalbert,
Jesse Jalbert, Heather Drouin, Travis Levesque and many great-grandchildren.
Richard joined the Marines in 1952 for two years then served in the reserves. After serving his country, he got married to Joan, worked on an apple orchard, at Nashua Wood Products in Merrimack for many years, and then atTriangle Pacific until he retired.
Richard enjoyed fishing, driving to Connecticut with his wife to gamble, taking rides to visit the kids on the weekend, and taking care of and walking his dog, P-Nut.
Graveside service will be held in spring at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH, where he will be buried beside his wife.
