HILLSBORO, NH: Karen L. (Grabowski) Weidner 63, our friend and sister passed away Tuesday October 31, 2017 peacefully at Concord Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was a resident of Hillsboro, NH. She was born on June 14, 1954 in Glen Cove Long Island, NY daughter of Patricia Ronaldo and Joseph Grabowski, and sister of Kevin Grabowski.
She grew up in Locust Valley Long Island, NY and she lived most of her life in Hillsboro, NH.
Karen was a graduate from Locust Valley High School and received her Associate in Science in Human Services with a Major in Mental Health from NHTI.
Karen’s happiest moments were when she was cooking a meal for someone and sending food packages to people in the community that had been sick or recovering from an illness. She kept in touch with everyone by telephone and faithfully checked in on shut-ins.
Karen was known to be a people, community-oriented person, dependable and had a strong sense of loyalty. Karen had personal integrity and good moral character. She also had a keen sense of humor and was very bright. She was strong and opinionated and was always up for the discussion. Her interests consisted of art, literature, writing, old world history, photography, freelance calligraphic work. Karen made beautiful calligraphy signs, shop display set-ups and craft class samples. She also hade her own Greeting Card business and made some of the most thoughtful and beautiful cards.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2 pm in the Smith Memorial Congregational Church, Hillsboro, NH.
The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service Hillsboro, NH is assisting the family.
